Best house in mountains without swimming access

Pros: The house itself is a 10! Beautifully and thoughtfully appointed by an interior decorator. Best rental in the mountains we’ve stayed! It’s bright, airy with A/C, has great full sized beds in every room, along with an outdoor BBQ and fire pit!

Cons: No access to the private Lake Arrowhead usage such as swimming, boating, fishing, etc because it’s private. This needs to be disclosed in the listing. Had we known, we likely would have found a different property. According to the Lake Arrowhead Association, homeowners may swim between docks but this house is a couple of miles away so of course this wouldn’t apply. This house does have an HOA pass which gives you access to the private Lake Arrowhead hiking trails. Lake Gregory is an alternative 20 minutes away. We went there too but there was no availability and swim activity passes were already reserved and sold out. So, again—items that should be notated in the listing so you can prepare ahead of time. Thus, we made the best of it by going on hikes around both lakes and visited the local area and eateries.
