Forty First Place - Boutique Hostel

Pros: Nice quiet place No breakfast included but shared kitchen with basic dishes and tools available

Pros: Quiet, comfortable location, near to Exposition Park and public transportation to union station. Very easy accesibility to the rooms, that save time.

Cons: There are very few places to eat in the surrounding area.

Pros: The assistance personnel are the best. I was missing hangers for the clothes and got them very fast. The location is fairly close to downtown even by bus.

Cons: The chair in room cannot be used with the desk since they are of the same height. I recommend fixing that since a desk and chair are very good additions. Also, it would be nice to have a more comfortable dining table and chair either at the room or the common area since the provided furniture is comfortable only for a coffee or small meals. I hope these comments are useful :)

Pros: I love this property. I booked for my birthday weekend and fell in love with this place. They have everything you need, and if they dont if you just ask I guarantee they can accommodate. The lady who cleans the rooms is amazing. She needs a raise. I enjoyed my stay again this week and will def book again in the future. I love that they dont charge a security deposit its super convenient for me because I dont ever have enough for the room and the deposit. So I want to thank the owners for making this a super convenient and affordable place.

Cons: It could be better if they had an ice machine.

Convenient location, great price for accommodations in this area; walkable to USC and Expo park

Pros: Our room (queen bed with private bath) was conveniently located on 2nd floor which was the kitchen. The hostel was easy walking distance to Exposition Park and USC, and the neighborhood felt generally safe to walk at night.

Cons: recommend that you bring ear plugs as the walls are thin and you'll hear the other residents and the street noise during the night. The bed was softer than I prefer and there were only 2 towels, which was fine, but would have been nicer to have a washcloth and handtowel in addition to the bath size.

Pros: I’ve stayed at an almost identical property across the street and both provide exactly what you would expect or want anywhere. The building is modern with a secure feel that gives a sense of security making it quite easy to sound asleep in an already quiet part of the neighborhood. I don’t normally leave reviews, but whoever is behind the scenes, ( as there is a self check-in checkout ) running the show do a fantastic job communicating, and answering any questions you may have. I stayed in the queen bedroom with detached private bathroom that was 10 out of 10 in both comfort and cleanliness. Great price and easy commute to anywhere in the city.

Cons: That it wasn’t mine to keep. Maybe add a TV

Affordable place close to exposition park

Pros: Nice modern rooms, comfy beds, easy access, shared kitchen. It was very convenient that we could come any time and no need to check in. It is also 15 min walk to exposition park. You can park on the street in front of apartment for free. Recommend if you just need a simple but nice place without roaches for a night or two.

Pros: I enjoyed the privacy of having my own bedroom and bathroom. The location is within driving distance of Dodgers Stadium, which was a MUST, and the game was great!!!!
