Santa Monica Proper Hotel

Beautiful and design hotel in Santa Monica

Pros: The Design is fantastic-Ibiza style restaurant and reception area. Loved having a peloton in the room to exercise without having to go to the gym

Cons: My room was next to the elevator and in front of the room for housekeeping and it was extremely loud

Gorgeous hotel, tasty food and top tier service.

Pros: Second visit and it felt like coming home.. we love the decor plus awesome food, staff are super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a baby this time and they were super accomodating. They even had baby toiletries 🥰 5 star experience. Special shout outs to Richard, Angelo, Alex and Valerie. 🙏❤️

Cons: Needed more umbrellas by the pool is the only thing that remotely bothered me.

A truly ‘proper’ hotel with outstanding design and service.

Pros: Everything! In particular, the hotel team are fantastic - everyone was professional, friendly, helpful and really made you feel comfortable. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

California Dreamin'

Pros: Really nice well appointed room with excellent choice of furniture which was apparent throughout the hotel. Great shower that was both hot and powerful. We enjoyed the in room service with food that was of a very high standard with the indoor restaurant helping to promote a feeling of being at home sitting on your sofa surrounded by lovely furniture, books, sculptures and lamps of all shapes and sizes. The swimming pool was adequate with great city roof views, providing a nice relaxing atmosphere and service when not driving around LA! The adjacent roof bar and restaurant was also a very nice place to be at night, albeit probably better in the summer months when its a bit warmer. An additional nice touch was the free coffee and muffins in one of the lounges downstairs every morning.

Cons: Its worth noting you are not really located next to the best beaches if that's what you are after, such as Hermosa in the south and the many surfing Malibu beaches further north. Santa Monica is close but certainly not the most charming of those available. LA is a big place so expect a bit of driving, but thats what adds to the charm and atmosphere IMO.

Beautifully decorated hotel with great restaurants and gym.

Pros: Beautifully decorated hotel. The interiors are absolutely stunning with such attention to detail. The rooms are comfortable, although a little on the small side. The restaurants are also incredible, as is the gym. It was our second stay here and we would definitely return.

Cons: Rooms were a little small. Not all the staff were very tolerant of our two young children, although many were.

Another fantastic stay at Proper

Pros: This property is amazing. The vibe, ambience, decor is gorgeous. The bars and restaurants are among the finest in LA, and the quality of the food and drink is excellent. The gym is perhaps one of the best (if not THE best) of any hotel I have stayed in.

Cons: Nothing really

Beautiful hotel with great facilities in a great location

Pros: The pool and the gym were fabulous. As a person who does resistance training 3-4 days a week, I can honestly say it’s the best hotel gym I’ve even used. The staff were also very helpful, and the restaurants were great.

A beautiful boutique hotel in Santa Monica.

Pros: The styling is exceptional. Every space is beautiful and comfortable. It feels good to be there.

Cons: Price.

Perfect hotel with a good location

Pros: Great hotel with a good location. The staff was so good and helpful. Bonus that they had there own parking under the hotel. Our room was great, size of both room in general and the bathroom. It was clean and the bed was very good. The restaurants served good food and bonus was the pool at the rooftop.

Big hotel with nice rooms in a good location.

Cons: My room was noisy at night- not the room but the street outside was really noisy. Otherwise I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely consider staying again.
